My neocities website is finally in a state I feel comfortable sharing with others. Main reason I wanted to create my own website was because the idea of having a website just for me seemed cool and also a place where I can share just about whatever I want without a worry for quality or interaction. Newgrounds is a good place but there is a clear level of quality expected of artists that IDK if I can maintain, either because my skill is lacking or my desire to make 'good enough' art is absent. I'll still share artwork that I put good effort & time into here, but anything that turns out worse than anticipated I'll keep to the neocities &/or shove it into a doodle dump here. I also wanted to have a place I could ramble about random topics, something that I don't think news posts are meant for.

As the subject line says, the main art project I've been working on since late 2023 is now done for the most part. Seeing all of the different rooms I made in one place is really satisfying to me. I could probably add more but I'll just say that finishing this feels good. Here is some pictures showing each room.

The world is called 'Hexagonal Home'. There are a few small things I plan on adding still but with each room completed, I think I want to take a break from this for now.

This year overall has felt weird to me. I haven't made as much artwork overall but I have made lots of progress for my VRchat world which is my current art project that I want to finish and I've worked full time half or a majority of this year. Thinking that 2025 is so close, I just feel off about this year as a whole, not sure how to put it into words.

I have other non-art related plans next year so there most likely won't be too many new art posts from me. Mostly because updates to my VRC world I don't think warrant art posts here and also I have been doodling for myself a lot more. It is very freeing to re-embrace the fact no one can see most of what I doodle so there is no realistic way someone can criticize it. For the doodles I do decide to post they'll either go into art dumps or on my bluesky.

In terms of the full artpieces I DO post, I can only say that looking at this summary image, I realize I gravitate more towards dark colors. Maybe that's something I'll try to change up or I may just lean more into it, who knows. After my current big project is done I want to try animating with 3D and see how that goes to determine what I work on next and how.

I figure may as well try the new social media platform that I've been hearing from some artists and streamers I watch. I don't know what to expect but I figure worst case scenario its just a waste of some of my time, no huge loss at risk. Hoping that this will eventually be my replacement for instagram, as I'm getting tired of using that for my social media platform of choice.

This place will still be my primary site for sharing my art. I like that newgrounds' focus is on art and I don't plan on leaving this place right now.

Since I finished with my job recently, I have a lot more free time on my hands.

At the very moment, not accounting for singular drawings, my art-related plans in mind are:

-Finish modeling & texturing the rest of the rooms for my VRchat world

-MAYBE make a new model of my persona

-Practice animating in blender

-MAYBE make my own website, probably on neocities

-Make a short RPG maker game and/or short animated series

Since I'll probably do individual artpieces in-between these, there is going to be a bit of a time gap for when these things get done, especially with the last 2 ideas listed. Some of these I may not even fully commit to as I know I can get demotivated with projects, but this is the roadmap I have for myself at the moment. Now I just gotta commit to it.

While working on the first page of my comic, I realized a couple of things that are detrimental to the act of me working on it:

1: My usual digital art style is pretty slow, and I already draw slowly so if I were to work on the comic, it may have to be in my doodle artstyle. It would be easier to make but it wouldn't look very clean.

2: I don't have a clear storyline thought out (yet), so I'm not exactly sure how to write it to be interesting enough to engage with. I have cool moments in mind but I don't have a clear idea for what to have in-between those moments right now.

3: Due to the previous 2 points, its just not very fun to work on right now. I have other art ideas I want to draw and maybe even 3D model. Art is a hobby for me so if it isn't enjoyable I probably should abstain from it for now.

I have other stuff I'm working on at the moment, so I'll still be posting stuff as I finish them, I just wanted to update whoever comes here about my news post that was up before this one.

At time of writing this, I currently have 3 or so individual drawing ideas swirling in my head that I want to get drawn out shortly, then afterwards I want to try delving into making a comic for some characters of mine.

A while ago, I made this short comic featuring the 2 intended main characters. The rest of the comics I have in mind would be to flesh them out as characters more and actually practice story-telling. I feel like I have a lot of good ideas for stories but I also need to realize that I actually have to draw and write them for them to be seen and heard. I currently don't expect the story to be seen as amazing by the average viewer, but I need to accept that my work isn't going to be enjoyed by every single person and also to get better at this I have to start somewhere, so heres to hoping I actually stick to this project once I start it.

I mostly made this news post for myself, so when I view my profile I'm reminded of what I told myself I would do. If anyone else happens to read this, thanks! Hope you are all taking care of yourselves.

I want to make my secret santa drawing this year look very good as I don't think my most recent art posts (at time of making this post) are the best representation of what I can do as an artist. So aside from the secret santa as well as some doodles for friends that I probably won't upload here, I might be going the rest of this year without publishing anything. Think I was and still am in a sort of art block but don't know if I should be forcing my hand to create or give it a break. Either way I don't think anyone will mind too much but that is the most recent news regarding me. Thanks for reading this and take care.

I realize it may make me come off as whiney, I'm not normally like that. I just want to make artwork I enjoy in the long run.
